About April Adams / Lone Star Production

April Adams has more than 15 years experience in the television and media industry. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from Texas A&M University at Commerce and got her start in the business as a radio deejay working any shift she could! Since then she has worked her way up, landing jobs as a television news anchor, reporter, and producer for various CBS affiliates throughout the Southwest. She has also hosted the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon for local television stations and was the co-creator and moderator of a cable TV show, “Explorations in Faith. Such experiences have led to more high profile stints as host and producer of various cable programs for national networks such as HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, and Turner South. April has also worked as an on-camera spokesperson for such companies as National Gypsum, Price Waterhouse Coopers, and Wachovia Bank.

As a writer, April has penned everything from marketing blitzes for small companies to editorials and articles for the web. With a keen understanding of what the reader—and viewer– wants, April keeps a constant emphasis on telling a story and telling it well. Her approach to any writing assignment always comes from her strong journalistic background and her love of storytelling.

In addition to her dedication to the television and media industry, April shares another passion with her husband: food and wine. April’s husband is a partner in a successful restaurant group, which allows them plenty of excuses to dine out. This inside knowledge of culinary delights gives April the expertise and credibility needed to host such shows as DIY Network’s “Fire Up the Grill” and “Lifestyles Food and Wine”, a weekly radio show she also created and produced.

Nowadays, April busies herself with raising two young children. Becoming a Mom has not only influenced her sleep schedule, but also her desire to be a working mom with balance.
